Definition
The Ministry of Health directorate responsible for traditional medicine, including thuốc cổ truyền (finished traditional medicines), vị thuốc cổ truyền (processed traditional substances) and dược liệu (medicinal materials, including fungi after the Law 44/2024 amendment). The Cục issues marketing authorisation under Circular 29/2025/TT-BYT and quality declarations under Circular 32/2025/TT-BYT through 30 June 2027; from 1 July 2027 the authority for vị thuốc cổ truyền and dược liệu devolves to provincial-level specialised health authorities.
