Medicinal materials

Raw materials of plant, animal or mineral origin used for medicinal purposes — under Article 66 of the Pharmacy Law as amended by Law 44/2024/QH15, expressly including nấm (fungi). Distinct from vị thuốc cổ truyền (processed traditional substances) and thuốc cổ truyền (finished traditional medicines). Quality is governed by Circular 32/2025/TT-BYT, which from 1 July 2025 requires the responsible establishment to publicly declare a quality standard (công bố tiêu chuẩn chất lượng) before circulation. Cultivation/collection must meet GACP from 1 January 2030.
