Health insurance (Vietnamese compulsory)

Vietnam's compulsory national health-insurance scheme covering the entire population, administered by Vietnam Social Security (VSS). The scheme reimburses participating hospitals and clinics for drugs supplied to insured patients within the national reimbursement list, periodically updated by the Ministry of Health. Inclusion in the BHYT list is the practical commercial gateway for high-volume drug sales in Vietnam, and explains the priority placed on national-tender outcomes administered through VSS.
